Cryovac has launched two rotary chamber vacuum machines into Europe – the VR8600 E18, which replaces the Cryovac VR8600 B18, and the VR8600 E16 EL.

Designed for packaging consumer and industrial units of fresh food in Cryovac shrink bags, both incorporate the latest features, including central lubrication, diagnostic messaging, a vacuum sensor with display, a new metal safety cover and soft discharge for sensitive products.

The VR8600 E16 EL is already encountering “great success” in the US, where 39 have been installed, principally for packing long fresh meat loins and long cooked hams for subsequent slicing. Its four rotary chambers and eight platens can handle products up to 900mm long in bags up to 400mm wide, at maximum speeds of 18 packs/min.

With fully automatic infeed, the Cryovac VR8600 E18’s six chambers and 12 platens can handle products up to 650mm long, in bags up to 450mm wide, at 30 packs/min.

Also new is the Cryovac VS20 DC semi-automatic belt chamber vacuum packing machine, which has been specially designed for packaging “sensitive” goods like cheese or processed meats.
