Romaco said it will showcase its expertise in pharmaceutical applications with selected technologies for tableting and secondary packaging at P-MEC show, which will be held this month in Mumbai, India.

Germany-based Romaco, which is a global manufacturer of packing and process technology, plans to have its KTP 590X single-sided rotary press as the main highlight at its stand during the three-day event.

KTP 590X is the newest entrant in Romaco Kilian’s KTP series of pharma tableting machines.

Romaco says that it is an extremely versatile single-sided rotary press with an ability to manufacture mono-layer and bi-layer tablet formats.

An operator without having to make any modifications to the compression units can switch between mono-layer and bi-layer mode of the KTP 590X press.

Using three compression rollers in the press, bi-layer tablets can be compressed at any time on the version. For this purpose, the tablet press comes equipped with two standard fill shoe modules, which distribute the powder uniformly in the die.

Romaco stated: “Thanks to the optimised paddle design, even poorly flowing or sticky powders can be processed efficiently and compressed homogeneously.

“With its three separate compression stations, the Kilian KTP 590X is equally suited for manufacturing effervescent tablets.”

The maximum output of the new Romaco Kilian KTP 590X single-sided rotary press can be up to 510,000 tablets per hour, in bi-layer mode as well.

Other technologies that are planned to be showcased at P-MEC by Romaco are the Romaco Kilian STYL’ONE Evolution tableting robot and the Romaco Promatic P 91S intermittent motion cartoner.

Romaco Kilian’s STYL’ONE Evolution is a single-stroke press which delivers 60% faster compression cycles compared to its predecessors in the range. Its maximum compression force has been increased to 50kN in contrast to the other presses in the range.

On the other hand, the Romaco Promatic P 91S intermittent motion cartoner can reach a maximum output of 140 cartons a minute. It comes with a small footprint which makes it ideal for several pharmaceutical applications and line configurations.
