Pennsylvania-based supplier of packaging products Crown Holdings has announced that CROWN Asia Pacific Holdings has planned to install a second beverage can line in its existing facility in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The new line is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2011 and have an initial annual production capacity of 700 million two-piece 33cl aluminum beverage cans, which will expand the plant’s capacity to 1.3 billion cans.
Crown’s Asia-Pacific Division President Jozef Salaerts said that the country is developing rapidly with more customers choosing the two-piece aluminum can as their packaging preference.
As the capital and largest city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh has grown to become the nation’s centre of economic and commercial activities.
