Coexpan & Emsur, the divisions of Grupo Lantero, have launched new innovation centre, known as Innotech, dedicated for the research and development of more efficient, sustainable packaging.

Located in Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, Spain, the innovation and development centre aims to address the major challenges of faced by the industry in terms of circularity and recycling.
The Innotech is set to become an international benchmark in the rigid and flexible packaging industry, Coexpan said.
The new centre will bring together customers, suppliers, associations, public bodies and universities, among others, to cooperate in projects and develop more sustainable packaging, which can also contribute to improving the environment.
Occupying more than 1,000m² of space, the new development centre features pilot rigid and flexible co-extrusion line; pilot lamination line; FFS and VFS packaging lines; sleeve tunnel; and laboratory equipment.

The Innotech offers portfolio of solutions and services including packaging advice/assessment, material tests and trials, exclusive training and capacity-building services as well as lab analyses.

COEXPAN & EMSUR are specialized in rigid and flexible packaging solutions for food products, as well as other technical and industrial applications.
Some of the products offered by the firms include rigid plastic sheets for FFS machines, thermoformed packages, lids, banderols, sleeves, pouches, doypacks, portion packs and shrink sleeves, among others; mainly aimed at the packaging of dairy products, fresh foods, processed foods, home and personal care products.
