DataLase (formerly Sherwood Technology), originator of the DataLase process, which uses laser-activated coatings and additives for on-demand variable marking of packaging, has expanded its Cheshire, UK headquarters. Finland’s Huhtamaki is to sell its expanded polystyrene packaging business and assets of Huhtamaki France in Auneau, France and all shares in Portuguese EPS company Huhtamaki Embalagens in Setubal to France’s Ono Packaging. The two businesses sold predominantly serve the local meat and poultry packaging markets.

Self-adhesive label trade association FINAT is to create a forum to give small and medium-sized member companies in Europe and India a better chance of doing business with eachother. The initiative gets under way in August when members of the Label Manufacturers Association of India meet in Mumbai for practical guidance on doing business with European companies.
