Amcor Flexibles EuroPouch is the first company to use a new zipper for retortable applications developed by Supreme Plastics. It has been designed to work with viscous products, and to withstand temperatures up to 129degC for 45min, suiying it especially for packaging foods usually in cans or jars.
Jonathan Fowle, Amcor Flexibles’ group director of innovation, design and marketing, comments: “Commercialization of the retort zipper opens up new opportunities for consumer convenience and portion control.
