Winkler+Dunnebier offers its new W+D 627 model for “profitable and flexible production” of envelopes and pockets up to 185x330mm size. It is also said to be particularly suitable for special products in small to medium scale runs.

Blanks, sheet or reels, “including difficult grades”, can be processed on the machine, says W+D. Operation is simplified by the main operator’s monitor for all input, tests and information; and individual servo-drives facilitate quick change-over.

All possible size cuts, window cuts and perforation cuts can be made – from the shape cut of the side flaps of a blank to complete cutting of envelopes and pockets, including multiple windows and perforations. All the cutting sections have EasyCut magnetic cylinder technology, with short set-up times and low tool costs promised.

A folding section is said to be ideal for processing thin papers and windows in the bottom flap. A new long side flap folding section enables production of pockets with centrer or side gumming and special folds.

A wide range of additional modules permit rapid expansion or changes in productivity and production range of the machine. These include an embossing section for high quality mailing products, a second window patching section, a bang tail folding section and further modules for shape cuts, gumming or perforation.

The company’s new W+D 200 flexo press with up to six ink units can also be integrated, as can the W+D 900 packaging machine, the W+D 910 wrapping system, and the W+D 930 palletizer.
