The bespoke cartoning line, being used to pack vials, has ...

Vepatec’s UK principal Partners in Packaging (PiP) has completed a specialist stepped cartoning line for the pharmaceutical industry.

The line, including a Vepatec Type 100S carton erector and a DSV 200S carton closer with intermediate indexing conveyor, has resulted in considerable cost savings for Johnson & Johnson company DePuy, alongside much improved pack integrity and appearance, of vital importance for the premium product being packaged.

Created for a blister packed medicinal vial, the line inserts the vial into a stepped area before inserting a sachet, a sheet of labels and instruction booklet. The three-flap carton is then ploughed and glued closed. The specially designed carton sidewalls have a high frame into which two sections are removed to accommodate the suspended blister packed vials. Sachet, booklet and sheet of labels are then inserted.
