At Pack Expo 2002, Toray Plastics (America) launched Torayfan PC-2, a highly durable metallized OPP film claimed to eliminate de-lamination during package opening, provide advanced oxygen and moisture barrier protection – and offer superior cold seal bonding and puncture resistance
The thin gauge film is said to be easy to convert, offer excellent machinability, and provide high yield economics compared with aluminum foil or metallized PET.. It is suited for extrusion, adhesive and cold seal applications, and can be surface printed.
Consumer packaging applications for PC-2 include stand-up liquid and dry mix pouches for beverages, cocoa and spices, as well as personal care and healthcare items.
