With a cutting height up to 0.9mm, the new High Blade Flexi from Gerhardt International enables thicker materials to be converted with flexi rotary tooling, replacing traditional flat-bed processes or solid dies.
“Able to cut through materials up to 0.9mm thick, and up to 3-5 mm if they compress, it opens up to applications such as seals and gaskets, medical devices, booklet labels, heavy board and folding cartons,” says Bo Meyer, Group Technical Director, of the Danish manufacturer.
He says a customer recently changed to the High Blade Flexi and now saves 50% annually on his tooling costs compared with what he previously spent on solid dies.
