A poster designed to help users of thermal printers produce correct barcodes is proving a hit with manufacturers, says its creator the e.centre.
Bar coding: Getting it Right with Thermal Printers was developed by e.centre’s Automatic Identification Quality Group, which has representatives from both the manufacturing and retail sectors. It provides thermal printer users with simple guidelines to ensure that barcodes scan first time every time.
Its tips include how to avoid common barcode problems when using thermal printers, the different requirements for barcodes used on consumer units, traded units and pallets and the basic rules to achieving good quality barcodes.
