Storopack will showcase its fully-automated Loose Fill system and FOAMplus Pre-Molding process at Pack Expo scheduled to be held in Las Vegas from 28 – 30 September.

The Loose Fill System system puts to use either Pelaspan Bio Loose Fill or Pelaspan PAC Loose Fill product.

The system is designed to identify the void to be filled once a box reaches the packing station, and the required volume of packaging peanuts flows in at the dispensing and filling station. It uses a light vibration that aids in compressing the peanuts inside the box.

Storopack North America president Daniel Wachter said: "This is the first and only Loose Fill protective packaging system that is fully automated – with exceptionally simple integration and straightforward operation.

"It is also one of only a few truly automated packaging solutions. We are very excited about offering this advanced productivity solution to our customers in North America.

"What distinguishes this fully automated solution from others on the market is its outstanding packaging line efficiency and problem-free operation. Users can count on its smooth running, easy maintenance and no downtime."

The system installed at Storopack’s customer facility in Munich, Germany, had raised output to 20 cartons per minute, the company said.

The FOAMplus Pre-Molding process begins with an initial analysis of packaging needs, based on which a pre-molding Design Center forms a foam cushion solution concept.

In the event of a customer agreeing with it, Storopack moves to the sample stage and commences production after the sample is tested and approved.
