Significant reductions in tearing, creasing and slack edges – and dramatic reductions in material wastage – in web manufacture are claimed for the Micro-Profile Monitor. Developed by the York Electronics Centre, backed by the Faraday Packaging Partnership, this non contact measurement system provides real time data that can automatically identify inconsistencies on-line, so that the web tension profiles can be adjusted immediately.
A new trouble shooting service allows the Monitor to be used as a short term non invasive diagnostic tool to identify and solve problems associated with web manufacturing processes, equipment and control systems.
