Anson Foodservice’s purpose-built factory in Livingston, Scotland has made the biggest investment in its history with the €1m purchase of a new punch and die line said to be unique in the UK.

The line, which has trebled the site’s output for plastic sandwich wedges, has been installed to meet rapidly increasing customer demand, and will also help free up capacity for salad pack production at Anson’s other UK sites at Haddenham and Sutton in Cambridge.

Andrew Osborne-Smith, Anson Packaging and Foodservice md, adds: “This investment will deliver significant benefits to our customers, including being able to respond rapidly to short-term increases in demand at a very competitive price.”

The spend at the 3,000 sq m site, which employs 58, has been supported by Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian.
