Salad is said to stay fresh longer if it is packaged in a new MAP film from Kobusch-Sengewald. The shelf life is increased from five to seven days by the multilayer PE film, the company claims.

The new film is said to have product-specific barrier properties to obtain the maximum shelf life for every individual component of the mixed salad. “It provides ideal conditions regardless of whether the packaging is aerated or the goods are partly vacuum packed by the co-packer,” states Kobusch-Sengewald.

The film can be processed on packaging machines with grooved, constantly heated tools, without the necessity of Teflon coating. It is said to have been used successfully by a fast food chain for over a year.
