Romaco is set to showcase its Promatic PTT track & trace machine at this year's Pharmapack event in France.

The event will take place between 7 and 8 February in Paris.

The company has developed the Promatic PTT as a new platform for anti-counterfeiting systems for carton identification.

Promatic PTT can be configured and incorporated into new or existing pharmaceutical secondary packaging lines for tracking pharmaceutical packaging across the supply chain.

With a capacity to process 400 cartons per minute, the new track & trace system can be used by contract packaging and pharmaceutical manufacturers for tamper-evident identification and tracking of cartons.

Devices such as an inkjet or laser printer will be used to print 2D data matrix or QR code on the side of the packs.

Later, the printed data will be read optically and verified using OCR/OCV. Promatic PTT can also be connected to serialisation software.

A vignette will be used on top of the cartons to comply with the regulations implemented in certain countries.

The flaps at both ends of the cartons will be sealed with security labels to effectively protect against counterfeiting.

Now, the system will check the tamper-evident feature to confirm whether they have been applied correctly.

The operations conducted by Promatic PTT will be linked to an ejection system to remove faulty packs.

The reject bins will be securely locked and expelled without halting the machine. An option can also be provided to move rejects into two different bins based on the type of error occurred on the machine.
