The RFID Centre in Bracknell is staging a one-day conference on December 6, supported by Packaging Today and RFID Solutions, exploring how RFID tagging, barcoding, DNA testing, the Internet, Global Data Synchronisation and other technologies can be employed in the drive towards improved food safety and complete supply chain traceability.

EU food law now contains “traceability guidelines” which apply to all food manufacturers, processors and food packaging companies, while retailers are demanding ever more stringent methods for ensuring food safety from their suppliers.

The conference will highlight a wide range of applications, from production to retail, with case studies showing how organisations have planned for and implemented the technologies throughout the food manufacturing and packaging process and into the supply chain. RFID, tagging, smart labelling and intelligent packaging will be among the topics covered, while speaker organisations will include the British Retail Corporation, GS1UK/EPCglobal, the Food Standards Agency, Domino Printing Sciences and the Packaging Federation.

Readers of Packaging Today and RFID Solutions can get10% off the full £495 event price by quoting discount codes PACK1 and RFID1. For more information and bookings: T: +44 (0)7881 828705; www.rfidc.com/foodtraceability
