Rexam has specially developed a 330ml European version of its Sleek aluminium beverage can format, which has already proved successful in the US in 9, 10.5 and 12oz sizes.
The “European” variant uses the same end as a standard aluminium bevcan can but is taller and more slender in diameter, while its shape is “fresh and modern” to improve shelf impact, and also make the pack easier to handle.
Target markets are mineral waters, “healthy” drinks, iced coffee, fruit juices, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
Rexam also emphasises the Sleek can’s “perfect environmental credentials” – it is fully recyclable into new cans – and its light weight, for “drinking on the go”.
