Uniq Prepared Foods Minsterley has taken delivery of a TF1000 tray erector manufactured by Smurfit Kappa Machine Systems of Yate, Bristol in response to retailer requests for “retail-ready” packaging.
The single head machine, featuring a low-level magazine for ease of replenishment, will operate at up to 30 trays/min using hot melt adhesive. A dual head variant is also available, together with the option to erect lock form style trays. Size changes can reportedly be achieved in under three minutes. All adjustments are on lead-screw with digital reference counters, with values and sequences shown “step-by-step” on the machine interface.
The systems can also be supplied with a hot melt refill system, which can hold over 50kg of adhesive.
