Mondi Packaging’s Chesterfield, UK, plant has benefited from a recent print development programme. The objectives included: improving colour control through optimizing the performance of the anilox rolls, then maintaining those ink volumes and achieving the correct colour strength; reducing set-up and press downtime due to cleaning; and improving productivity.
Pamarco Global Graphics assisted by devising a preventative maintenance schedule, customized around the press/anilox/ink/substrate configuration. This was followed by a series of training sessions for the team from Mondi, to help them understand the importance of the anilox roll in maintaining colour control, and to help them get the best results from Pamarco’s Care cleaning solutions.
The project is said to have resulted in a measurable improvement in quality and productivity.
