Germany-based digital printer PPS. Imaging has further invested in Xeikon Wall Decoration Suite to expand its presence in the interior design market.
Xeikon Wall Decoration Suite includes Xeikon 8500 digital printing system with an X-800 front end and two CMS/WMF walldeco finishing units.
Xeikon’s suite will help PPS. Imaging to serve creative market for personalised wallpaper for hotels, cafés, offices, trade shows, events and homes.
The installation of the new suite is expected to be completed by the end of March this year.
The suite holds capacity to handle various materials, including the FSC-certified nonwoven wallpapers.
The second Xeikon 8500 is a one-pass-duplex solution in a four-colour configuration for single-sided or complete printing in a single pass.
Earlier, the company invested in Xeikon 8500Wall Decoration Suit to increase productivity.
The first Xeikon 8500 has been installed with an offline Tecnau cutting system to cut wallpaper to the desired roll width. It is also fitted with a Fotoba winding system.
These two external finishing devices have been replaced with a Xeikon CMS/WMF inline finishing solution to cut and rewind the wallpaper inline and produce a completed wallpaper roll for packaging and shipping.
Xeikon 8500’s inline process helps to decrease manual operations and creates effective process ranging from a PDF file to the finished product.
PPS. Imaging managing director Axel Mausolf said: “Our recent takeover of klebefieber.de, an online shop for customised wall decoration and home design ideas, has provided us with a strong additional sales channel for products we can produce with the Xeikon Wall Decoration Suite."
With nine locations in Germany, Netherlands and the UK, PPS. Imaging offers wide-format digital print services, including the production of displays and bespoke wallpaper.
