Polytype reports that it reached its budget objectives for turnover and order intake during the first quarter of 2004, and “looks positive into the year and the projects to be carried out”. New orders to supply several large converting machines signal encouraging capital spending activity in the global converting industry, the company states.

Additional orders for retrofit jobs and extensions of existing machines are said to contain “a vast scope” of modifications for drives and controls, additional coating heads, state of the art winding technology and extensive dryer expansions.

There has been constant development, notably in web handling with AC control and flotation drying with the new Euro Dryer, as well as an extended range in winding technology.
