Pests are getting the brush off with a new vibratory conveyor method from Wright Machinery that is being pioneered by The Watercress Company of Dorset.

The system consists of a high amplitude vibratory conveyor powered by an electro-magnetic drive. The product travels down the conveyor and tumbles over interchangeable screens with varying size holes, through which contaminants fall.

“Different products react in different ways to vibration but we are able to tune the system to a variety of produce with different screens in the base of the conveyor,” says Watercress Co. sales and technical manager Tom Amery.
