Pizzas being inspected by Cognex vision equipment at Sweden's Gunnar ...
A vision system from Cognex supplied by partner system integrator AVT Industriteknik is being used by Sweden’s largest family-owned food business, Gunnar Dafgård, to inspect a variety of pizzas marketed under the “Billy” brand.
At Sweden’s largest pizza bakery, just outside Lidköping, Dafgård manufactures 110,000 Billy’s pan-pizzas every day, distributed to foodservice and retail outlets in Sweden and beyond.
The new Cognex Vision system with In-Sight vision sensors inspects the position of pizzas on the production line to ensure their look, size and form are correct. Dafgård says it selected Cognex equipment due to the company’s in-depth knowledge of the food industry worldwide.
AVT developed a user-friendly interface which enables staff on the pizza line to select different vision applications and make adjustments without specialist training.
