A specially modified stainless steel Ishida multihead weigher, built to IP66 specifications and completely waterproof, has reduced giveaway, facilitated processing and substantially increased line capacity at Finland’s largest poultry producer, Broilertalo.
Dissatisfied with its manual packing system’s excessive giveaway and low capacity, the firm approached Ishida Europe for a flexible weighing solution to deal with differing shapes, sizes and weights of poultry. Further requirements were easy maintenance, simple cleaning and rapid changeovers.
The 14-head weigher can handle a wide range of products, while its 32-bit processor permits up to 50 presets for easy, changeover.
Since the weigher was installed Brolertalo says product giveaway has dropped dramatically and efficiency improvements have enabled it to increase capacity by up to 25%.
