The Hull-based McGurk Group, which offers an end-to-end digital design, print and packaging solution, has invested £1m in new premises following rapid expansion over the past few years.
The company’s new 10,000 ft2 premises on the A63, Hull’s main highway link to the motorway network, are almost double the size of its existing premises, and will house both its labels and packaging division, formerly known as System Reel, and McGurk Logistics. New equipment and plant includes an eight-colour UV flexo press with cold blocking and de-lam/re-lam and three new vehicles.
Gary McGurk, md, McGurk Labels and Packaging, said: “Owing to the Group’s continued expansion, we have found the current premises are proving inefficient for the workload. The extra space and new machinery will help us expand our product range, enabling us to be more competitive within the high volume sector, and at least treble our capacity.”
