Alcan Packaging is investing £3.5M in a Cerutti 940 gravure press with in-line lamination for its Lawson Mardon plant at Midsomer Norton, UK.
Due to be in full production by the end of August, the new press has a maximum web width of 1,350mm and 11 print units, allowing printing and in-line lamination with surface or reverse options. It can also apply coldseal in register in a single operation with printing and lamination. Gearless electronic drives are said to guarantee excellent register at high speeds.
