Global expansion plans have led to a change of name for UK based glue equipment specialist Pafra Systems. The company is now operating under the name of WH Leary, the US company that acquired it in 2000 to set up a European office.

With the successful introduction of Leary technology into the UK since the acquisition, the company believes the support structure is in place for its launch in mainland Europe – as the first stage of a selective expansion strategy.

Bryce Anderson, European business manager, says: “With the technical expertise now installed to ensure the best possible support service, we are now in a position, as the first part of our expansion plans, to effectively promote the full range of Leary technology in selected western Europe countries. At the moment we are focusing on key manufacturers in France, Germany and The Netherlands, where we believe there is tremendous potential.”

He says Leary is also gearing up for markets further afield – including the Far East and Australasia, where talks have been held with leading manufacturers.

“During the course of next year we will have in place distribution networks in these regions that will be offering technology that can increase productivity and efficiency levels, while reducing makeready times and waste costs. There are some exciting challenges and opportunities ahead.”
