Hamburg based Maschinenfabrik Max Kroenert has acquired Swiss coating equipment manufacturer Bachofen + Meier (BMB) from Jagenberg for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition reinforces Kronert’s position as a leading specialist supplier of coating lines and equipment.
BMB will retain its name and location at Bülach, Switzerland, and continue to operate as a stand-alone company within the Kroenert group, which also includes a US subsidiary, Kroenert Corp, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and dryer manufacturer Drytec, in Hamburg-Norderstedt.
The German group says the core businesses of both Kroenert and BMB will be machinery, complete lines or single components, for coating and laminating of paper, plastics film and aluminum foil for the converting and flexible packaging industries, and coating machinery for paper and board finishing.
