Leicester-based extrusion blowmoulded bottle manufacturer Jubb UK has a new management team after emerging from administrative receivership twice in the past 18 months

Backed by new investors, it has also shown a profit in its first business quarter after a “substantial reorganisation”.

Original company Jubb Containers merged with moulder Barclay Stuart but was placed in administration in December 2004, before being acquired by new owners and trading as Cenplas. However it quickly faced administration again and, until late December 2005, was operated by receivers Geoffrey Martin.

Just when the company faced liquidation, Studon Holdings, a Leicester-based investment firm, bought the business, saving 70 jobs. Since early January Jubb has traded successfully while its new owners have injected the capital to achieve new growth objectives.

Jubb UK, which now employs 75, will focus heavily on extrusion blowmoulding and operate a print and label print and label application department.

Mike Clay, general manager, is a polymer scientist and worked for 31 years with BXL and BP, while operations manager Eddie Toon is a qualified toolmaker previously with BXL and BP. Mario Ciancio, sales manager, previously worked for RPC and Lawson Mardon.
