Jiffy Packaging, a protective packaging manufacturer and part of Pregis Protective Packaging Europe, has appointed a local haulier R G Bassett & Sons to provide full logistics support, to enhance delivery to its UK distributors.
Under the new contract, the Jiffy name and livery is prominent on the eight high cube trailers newly acquired by Bassett’s, based at Stoke-on-Trent.
Products being transported will include padded bags, foam, air bubble film and protective mailers, and the company’s Air Cushion Technology for packaging void fill systems.
“In today’s highly competitive markets, we recognise that reliable delivery is every bit as important as the quality of the products supplied,” says Alan Weston, Managing Director of Jiffy Packaging Co.
The arrival of the new delivery fleet follows Jiffy’s £500,000 investment in end of the line packing equipment to increase production efficiencies and to tailor orders to individual customer requirements.
