James Cropper 3D Products is exhibiting its Colourform packaging solution at this year’s Packaging Innovations event in Birmingham, UK.

The event is being held from 28 February to 1 March.

The company developed the Colourform packaging solution as an alternative to products made from plastic or other materials.

James Cropper has used renewable natural wood fibres and quality content from its own recycling facility to produce Colourform packaging solution.

The company  is producing Colourform in two finishes, including Colourform Touch with warm, tactile and velvety finish and Colourform Smooth with slick finish and sharp edges.

With precision embossing and meshing, the Colourform allows to develop any pattern, image or wording into 3D design, helping to avoid the use of complex mixed materials and print.

Colourform packaging, which is fully recyclable with household paper and naturally biodegradable, can cope with any colour with guaranteed consistency and tactile finish.

According to the company, Colourform showed the lowest primary energy demand in production compared to polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high impact polystyrene (HIPS) in an independent Lifecycle Analysis.

James Cropper has recently provided the new packaging solution to its clients, including Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics and British fragrance brand Floral Street.

James Cropper’s 3D Products business director Matthew Miller said: “It’s crucial for packaging to reflect a brand’s identity and elevate the product inside. Until now, it’s been difficult for brands to tick all of these boxes.

“With Colourform, however, we’re doing exactly that – combining style and sustainability – and we truly believe it’s the future of packaging.

“Our product allows companies like Floral Street to stand out with a creative packaging solution, while boosting their ‘green’ credentials and helping end consumers to recycle easily – a pressure that will only continue to grow.”
