Next year's Interpack exhibition, the 50th to date, will be the biggest ever.

Messe Düsseldorf says all exhibition space is already booked (there is now “a waiting list”), with exhibitors set to showcase a broad portfolio of packaging machines, materials, systems and services in 19 halls at Düsseldorf’s Trade Fair Center from April 24-30, 2008. The facilities now include a new hall, 8b, located on Europlatz, bringing the total exhibition space to 265,000 sq m.

Messe Düsseldorf says: “As the world’s number one fair for the industry the 2008 edition of Interpack promises to unveil innovative solutions and comprehensive services for all packaging sectors. Interpack is synonymous with the future of packaging in all its facets, from individual or integrated process stages through intelligent/active packaging, innovative materials, improved quality controls and tooling engineered for flexibility to marketing-oriented design.”

For the first time exhibitors will be able to showcase “standalone” solutions for packaging materials production, a move Wilhelm Niedergöker, Messe Düsseldorf md, says is “our response to current developments in the global packaging industry and an effective means of further opening up Interpack to packaging production processes”.

Interpack 2005 featured 2,654 exhibitors from 57 countries, while the 176,964 visitors, 55% from overseas, represented 106 nations.
