The International Association of Diecutting and Diemaking has added four new titles to its DVD Educational Series.

‘Set Bending Made Easy’, by Rudy Cendejas, is a tutorial which covers the principles of set bending for six of the more common cartons in the marketplace. Primarily directed to the folding carton industry, it also shows techniques for set bending hanger holes and circles. ‘Combination Foil Stamping and Embossing on Presentation Folders’ demonstrates how to makeready this job “with greater ease and speed – all while achieving superior results”. It is claimed the self levelling combination counter can cut makeready by as much as 50 per cent.

‘Emboss and Diecut in One Pass with Greater Quality Embossing at High Speeds’ reviews the newest technologies for embossing/die cutting in one pass. It shows the particulars in creating a steel rule die with an embedded embossing die, keeping tight registration at high running speeds. Proper set-up and makeready are demonstrated on press.

‘Basics of Foil Stamping and Embossing Set-Up and Makeready’ shows the ideal position for the sheet on the platen, setting the eccentric, packing the plate and setting it parallel, and how to fine tune job setup to ensure the appropriate amount of pressure. It considers unique stocks and foils and different types of dies utilized in the process.

Other titles available include: ‘Improved Corrugated Nicking Techniques (Rotary and Flat)’; ‘Cutting and Creasing Plastics’; ‘Soft Anvil Rotary Rubbering Technology’; ‘In-House Repairs’ ‘How to Achieve Fast Press Change-over’; and ‘How to Achieve Optimal High Speed Blanking’.
