Weber Marking Systems has devised a bespoke sandwich labelling system comprising label printers and special software for the sandwich production unit at Royal Preston Hospital.
As its choice of fresh sandwich varieties is decided daily, Weber had to devise a fast, flexible labelling system offering easy set-up and product changeovers. The software programme enables label designs, containing ingredients and nutritional information, to be created for each sandwich variety.
These are then stored in the label printer for call-up at the touch of a button. The operator keys in the required product code for the desired
label and, once this run is completed, the next code is keyed in and the new label is ready to print. Labels are printed on demand and hand applied. Weber has also supplied an off-line labeller to pre-print labels ahead of the department’s production of pre-ordered speciality products.
