US prepress house Carey Color has purchased a FlexPose!direct laser ablation system from Lüscher Flexo. The Cleveland, Ohio, based company will use it to make sleeves for flexible packaging, corrugated pre-print and labels
The order is the first for a FlexPose!direct with a three metre engrave length. It will be the third installation in North America following the launch of the system at drupa 2004.
Lüscher Flexo is now developing a system with a total laser power of 800W, which incorporates two sealed CO2 lasers. The company says it will deliver increased productivity, while maintaining the exceptional quality achieved with the 300 and 600W systems.
