Organizer Nimble Shows reports strong exhibitor demand for ICE 2005. By the end of May, 2004, it claims, the level of firm bookings for stand space at the next event had already broken all previous records. The total of more than 60 companies, plus a further 20 reservations, is said to be already equivalent to about two thirds of the size of ICE 2003, with 18 months still to go until the next show.

Nimble md and show director Michael Boyle commented: “ICE 2003 certainly was the breakthrough. We now see two clear trends in the market: ICE exhibitors, particularly OEM manufacturers, are taking larger stands, in order to display more machinery. This is partly due to the express wishes of many visitors to see more machines running on the stands, partly due to the renewed confidence in ICE as the leading European showcase for converting technology. Secondly, it is extremely encouraging to see so many suppliers, especially from outside Germany, joining ICE for the first time. Instead of being a ‘wait and see’ event, it has now become a ‘must attend’ show for all relevant suppliers in the paper, film and foil converting field.”

The next ICE will again be held at the MOC, Munich, from November 22-24, 2005. It will focus on converting flexible materials, including coating, laminating, slitting, winding and finishing. Package print will again be excluded, as this is covered at several other events. An expanded Technical Congress will run alongside the show in adjoining conference rooms.
