IOP: The Packaging Society (formerly the Institute of Packaging) is calling for entries to its 2006 Student Starpack Design Awards, described as “a vital platform for the packaging designers and technologists of the future to demonstrate their creative and practical flair”.

Sponsored by AssiDomän, BPI, the Field Group, Marks & Spencer, the MPMA, Pro Carton, Smurfit, Britvic Soft Drinks, Clarifoil, Presentation Products, DS Smith Packaging and Tigerprint, the awards are open to students currently involved in college or university courses covering a wide range of subjects, although typically they will be studying on packaging design, graphic design, structural and product design and materials and technology courses.

Entrants can choose from nine briefs, ranging from designing a new can for Britvic’s Tango brand to creating a new packaging range for Marks & Spencer cocktails.
