UK flexo press manufacturer Edale will be holding an open house in the first half of December to showcase its Lambda converting and printing system. Launched at Labelexpo Americas, the Lambda is currently being demonstrated in the US at Tamarack Products, in Illinois. The Lambda being shown at the open house in the UK features the Tamarack P500 RFID equipment and configured as an off-line system for RFID and inlay affixing.
Fully servo driven, the Lambda’s ‘plug and play’ technology is said to allow specification of any conceivable configuration, while its open architecture design enables easy adjustment, reconfiguration and upgrade. “Exceptional throughput” is claimed through the combination of high production speeds, short job change times and ease of use.
Modules available include RFID, rotary die converting, punching, foiling, embossing, slitting, hotmelt, booklet/patch placement and flexo/rotary screen/gravure/digital printing. Each module is positioned on a sliding platform, enabling them to be easily moved along the unit or lifted out and then back into a different location.
Typical off-line applications include coating, booklet insertion and multilayer label production, together with the RFID option available for viewing. However, Edale stresses, “there are an unlimited number of configurations available and modifications that can be made at a later date”.
