The inaugural edition of the Digital Outlooks Conference, due to be held on June 16-17, 2004, in Long Beach, California, has been postponed. Organizer the Graphic Arts Show Co says it will now be held “at a date and location to be announced”.

The Conference was to focus on digital print in all its forms, including variable data printing, short run digital, JDF and Xserve, PDF, Digital Asset Management, and colour management for digital devices.

Regis J Delmontagne, president of GASC, comments: “The entire industry’s attention for the last few months has been focused on technology and capital expenditure items at drupa. That focus left little room for graphic communications professionals to consider the training and educational component necessary to using and applying those technologies effectively. This is a conference whose time will soon come, but is not right at this moment.”
