West Belfast-based carton producer Delta Packaging has begun running a new printing and die-cutting line featuring a £2.5m Bobst Lemanic eight-colour flexo press, the only one in Europe.
This is believed to represent one of the biggest manufacturing industry investments in Northern Ireland’s recent history.
Delta says the high-speed press – which uses water-based inks, and offers simultaneous two-sided printing from the reel and in-line die-cutting – will enable it to compete effectively for contracts with major buyers and ensure it retains a competitive edge serving clients including McDonalds, Gillette and KFC.
