Corrugated packaging giants David S Smith, in the UK, and USA based Georgia-Pacific have formed an alliance to serve multinational businesses needing international supplier coverage.

As well as collaborating in sales and marketing, the two groups will share quality and technical information, and product development to provide “seamless supply” to customers acoss all their markets.

“By working together we can provide superior service to major customers that operate in European and North American markets,” says Peter Williams, group chief executive of David S Smith. Georgia-Pacific’s Steve Klinger, vp-packaging operations, added: “We are excited about this international alliance, which will allow us both to provide additional value propositions for existing and future customers”.

David S Smith supplies the European market with its sister company Kayserberg Packaging, and through the Avantus alliance with Saica and Kappa. Georgia-Pacific is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of pulp and paper, employing over 50,000 people at more than 500 locations in North America.
