Tetra Pak, a food processing and packaging company, has opened its new Technology Center in Pudong, Shanghai.

The company said that center brings resources together from product development and engineering, technical service, training, sourcing and distribution, and provides customers with a one-stop service in food processing and packaging systems.

The company claims that engineering systems geared to the China market will be a special feature of the Shanghai Center. The new facility will include Chinese road condition analysis lab, with equipment that records road conditions across the country and provides data to reduce potential transportation problems for the customers to use.

Dennis Jonsson, president and CEO of the Tetra Pak Group, said: “The Technology Center in Pudong creates a world-class resource for customers, ideally placed to address the unique challenges of food and beverage packaging, processing and distribution in China.

“This facility will make us more responsive to local needs, ensuring that our activities, our innovation pipeline and our service offerings are sharply focused on helping local customers better deliver their products to the people of China.”

Tetra Pak operates 16 technical training center, 41 technical service centers and 11 research and development facilities around the world.
