Bread maker Sunblest has launched a new form of packaging. The transparent packaging is printed by Jordan Plastics in Portadown.

Sunblest, a Northern Ireland brand which is owned by Allied Bakeries, has launched a new form of packaging.

Belfast Telegraph reported that the new look capitalised on the red and yellow colour scheme associated with the brand and would boost its on-shelf visibility. The packaging will feature the brand’s new strap line ‘raised with Sunblest.’ The transparent packaging is printed by Jordan Plastics in Portadown.

Sunblest is reported to have invested over GBP2.1m in deals with Jordan and other local suppliers including Neill’s Flour Mill in Belfast, Dale Farm in Ballymena, Glenshane Eggs in Maghera and Quality Eggs in Lisnaskea.

Andrew Hollywood, marketing executive of Sunblest, said: “The new packaging will modernise the Sunblest brand for today’s market.”

“A lot of consumer feedback was gained before the changes were implemented and the new design has updated and refreshed this long-established brand which has been enjoyed in Northern Ireland for more than 50 years,” he added.

Alan Dawson, sales executive of Jordan Plastics, said: “We have been working with Sunblest and Allied Bakeries for over eight years and we are delighted that the bakery has chosen to continue having its bread bags printed by a local company and more importantly with Jordan Plastics.”
