Switzerland-based Sidel Group created its own subsidiary in Johannesburg, South Africa to better serve its customers from the Southern part of the African continent.

Sidel has been present for 30 years in South Africa, through their agent. Now by establishing their own local company, they are taking the first step in strengthening company’s local presence for greater responsiveness and stronger support to their local customers. The company also plans to bring additional resources onboard soon in order to offer more service capabilities and competences. The Johannesburg-based company is, since June, the home base to support all countries in Southern Africa, including Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland. Sidel President and CEO Mart Tiismann stated that the decision to create Sidel South Africa epitomizes their commitment to the whole region to supply nearby support to their already large installed base and to accompany the growth of beverage manufacturers. Today, Sidel has a large installed base of more than 400 pieces of equipment in Southern Africa. This is a growing market in all types of beverage businesses, where Sidel is mainly involved in CSD, beer, and converters.
