Sealed Air has introduced a new form of oven ease vacuum-sealed packaging, which can be put directly into a conventional or microwave oven to cook food.

Sealed Air, provider of protective packaging solutions in the industrial, food and consumer markets, has developed a new form of oven ease vacuum-sealed packaging for food packaging sector.

Sealed Air is targeting fast food and restaurant suppliers for a good chunk of business through this newly launched Cryovac Oven Ease HC2440 bag. This multilayered and transparent bag has good barrier properties and can be placed directly into hot ovens, either conventional or microwave, to cook food.

It keeps food moist at the time of cooking, brings down the cooking time compared with conventional oven-ready forms of packaging and is leak-protected. It can be heated at temperatures of 200 degrees centigrade for periods of up to two hours and at 190 degrees for up to four hours.

According to Sealed Air, this new Oven Ease bag is an ideal option for packaging and roasting refrigerated products such as meats. In other words, beef could be injected, marinated, tumbled and packed in the bag, before being distributed to a restaurant, where it could be roasted.
