The Spanish wine capsule company, Rivercap, is joining forces with its French counterpart Sparflex, to better serve their wine and spirits clients.

This operation is the result of a common vision of the world capsule market for cork-finished wines and spirits, where both companies have identified important synergies in their commercial and manufacturing operations.

This new group will create the critical mass necessary to address the demands of the current wine and spirit markets, particularly in terms of response time and innovation of capsules, the companies claimed.

According to the companies, the objective of this new group is to offer better customer service, a larger range of products, better technology and a manufacturing capacity on several continents.

The combination of the industrial strength and the geographical locations of this new group will give it a world reach from its commercial and manufacturing sites in France and Spain, and in the US, where all Polylam and PVC production will be centralized in Ukiah, California.

Cork Supply USA will continue to distribute all Rivercap products.

Sparflex offers a global packaging solution which includes raw material production, design services, sales and distribution of the final products, for both still and sparkling wines.

The agreement between Sparflex and Rivercap relates exclusively to their capsule operations for still wines and spirits. The other Sparflex activities (sparkling foils, wirehoods, labels, polylam extrusion and design services) remain outside this agreement.

The founders of Rivercap will continue in their current positions, and the management of both Rivercap and Rivercap USA will remain in place.
