India-based pharmaceuticals firm Piramal Healthcare has invested in two Videojet 3320 lasers to replace existing product marking equipment at its Morpeth facility in UK.

This facility of Piramal produces a wide range of tablet and blister-packed drugs and healthcare products for different pharmaceutical companies.

Piramal has installed two Videojet 3320 lasers to improve its production process and the lasers are coding 180 products a minute over a 12.5-hour, 6-day week shift.

Piramal Healthcare production engineer Steve Rushworth said that being able to deliver a quality code at the right speed for the application was very important to the company.

As reported by PackagingNews, the lasers have an added advantage, which make the working environment more convenient and pleasant to work as the bad odours present in the previous equipments no more exists in these new Videojet 3320 lasers.

Videojet manufactures different kinds of coding, printing and laser-marking products and has more than 275,000 units installed around the world.
