US packaging equipment manufacturer Nordson Corporation said the company’s sales has increased 22% in 2010 fourth quarter of $290m.
The company has posted a 27% rise in the full year sales of $1bn in 2010.
During the quarter ended 31 October, Nordson’s operating profit increased to $73m and the figure was $235m for the whole year.
Nordson president and chief executive officer Michael Hilton said, "We continued to grow our business around the world while controlling costs, resulting in the highest level of quarterly operating profit in our history."
"Volume in all segments and geographies grew strongly over the previous year, and our operating margin of 23% is the strongest performance in more than 25 years, Hilton said.
The firm’s Adhesive Dispensing Systems delivered a operating margin of 33% while in Advanced Technology Systems, the operating margin was 25%.
The company’s Industrial Coating Systems segment posted a sales and operating profit of 17%.
In the first quarter of 201, the company expects sales to increase 18 to 22% over prior year.
