Nalgene, a New York-based manufacturer of plastic pipette holders and polyethylene lab ware, has introduced new Multi-Drink bottle, a two-in-one design which is said to offer two different ways to drink. The new bottle joins the company's diverse array of BPA-free reusable bottles.

The company said that the Multi-Drink bottle comes with a dual-function closure, and a pivoting and locking straw which is oriented horizontally for ergonomic, eyes-on-the task sipping, and a scaled-down loop-top drinking spout.

When not in use the straw nests inside a protective ‘garage’ complete with sliding lock to prevent inadvertent opening while inside a briefcase, book bag or carry-on luggage.

Nalgene added that the leak-proof Multi-Drink features a 24mm loop-top for gulps and a sip-friendly pivoting straw with leak-proof lock. The company claims that 24mm loop top design, delivers maximum drinking volume for hot-weather, high-paced environments.

The Multi-Drink’s 20oz bottle fits standard car and jogger cup holders, bike water bottle cages and backpack stow pockets. Durable and dishwasher-safe, the Multi-Drink bottle has printed graduation marks for easy-to-read measuring of liquids.

The company further claims that bottle’s ‘shrink sleeve’ packaging is by EarthFirst, a compostable plastic made from renewable plant resources. Six new colors are available ranging from Purple with Grey cap to Red with Grey cap. The Multi-Drink is available now at nalgene-outdoor.com and retails for $12.99.

Tiffany Teaford, product development lead at Nalgene-Outdoor, said: “We believe that the Multi-Drink’s versatility is its best attribute. Whether you’re headed for a morning commute, lunch-time spin class or weekend hike, the Multi-Drink is your go-to-bottle that adapts to any pace and every hydration need. It’s versatile, durable and fully leak-proof in the sip or swig modes.”
